CAPP Toronto takes it to the streets with direct voter outreach
Canadians Advocating Political Participation (CAPP-Toronto) will be doing just that, interacting with Torontonians right on the street as they live and shop in their own downtown. This weekend CAPP-Toronto activists will engage their fellow Torontonians face-to-face, to spark interest and excitement in the municipal election later this month.
WHEN: Saturday, October 2nd Time: 10:00am
WHERE: Meeting St. Lawrence Market. (outside North Market, NW corner of Front & Jarvis Sts.)!
HOW MANY: We expect between five (5) to ten (10) volunteers.
ORGANIZED BY: Canadians Advocating Political Participation -Toronto
WHAT: Supporters of democracy will be meeting Saturday @ 10 a.m. @ St. Lawrence Market. From there, we'll be going around public spaces (incl the farmer's market) talking to people about the upcoming election and reminding them that the final day to vote is Monday, October 25th. We will be handing out non-partisan educational leaflets and buttons.
WHY: CAPP Toronto believes that a healthy democracy starts with citizen engagement. We also believe that since municipal elections historically have a low turnout, that concentrating on our current election would be a great place to begin engaging citizens.
AVAILABLE FOR INTERVIEW: Local citizens engaging other citizens in the upcoming provincial election.
